Information on the IB Primary Years Programme
Arthur Kramer Elementary proudly became an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) World School on September 14, 2017. Since then, we have been committed to providing our students with a high-quality international education that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a love of lifelong learning.
The IB PYP is designed for students in Pre-K through 5th grade and focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and beyond. The program encourages students to:
- Ask questions and explore ideas through inquiry-based learning.
- Develop important skills and attitudes that prepare them to be active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.
- Embrace the IB Learner Profile traits, which include being caring, principled, reflective, open-minded, and more.
- Make meaningful connections across subjects and understand how their learning relates to the world around them.
At Kramer, the PYP strengthens student agency by giving learners voice, choice, and ownership in their education. Together with families and our community, we continue to grow as an IB World School, empowering students to think critically, act responsibly, and make a positive impact.
